Literature DDs July 22 - 28th
Welcome to another weekly roundup of our wonderful Literature Daily Deviations! Please enjoy! "This atmospheric short story is a perfect blend of southern ghost story and New Orleans romance." - @Zara-Arletis "I love the subtle background clues woven into what would otherwise be normal banter." - @SingingFlames "A brilliantly chill haiku to assuage the summer heat." - @Barosus "It is a very beautiful poem and does have a Tolkien-ish tone." Suggested by @Glandal, featured by @Malintra-Shadowmoon "Solidly developed narrative arc, and a great example of how to handle a reveal." Suggested by @neurotype, featured by @Zara-Arletis "The narrative voice of this poem is a treat and the formatting just adds to it. Beautiful, all around!" - @SingingFlames "I found it compelling because of the way it weaves light and dark together. How it subverts the expectations of the theme and twists it into something desperate and fatal." Suggested by @DanielaIvanova, featured by @Barosus

To GDeyke, With Deepest Gratitude
@GDeyke may have hung up their heart, but they are still in ours! Thank you, @GDeyke, from all of us to you, for the time and love you've devoted to our wonderful Literature community and DeviantArt as a whole. We've come together to share our thoughts and gratitude. "@GDeyke's work as a volunteer had a critical impact on our German niche community. He made us visible thanks to the DDs that he featured and his presence also was a huge motivation for me to seek out the greater literature community more actively. I am very thankful for everything he did." - @Flammenfeder "I was an admirer of @GDeyke's writing, but didn't have a chance to get to know them as a person until we worked together as CVs. It was a pleasure. However they choose to continue their engagement in the community henceforth, I know that it will contain the same integrity and thoughtfulness that they brought to their time as CV." - @JessaMar "@GDeyke is one of those people who makes the lit community on dA worth
